Oracle Corporation promoted the launch of their SOA (service-oriented architecture) software product with direct mail, targeted e-mails and nationwide sales presentations.
Success with this particular project relied on my ability to grasp an abstract concept (it doesn't get much more abstract than "middleware") and present it in an attention-getting— yet completely sophisticated– way.
Since this marketing campaign took off, Oracle's middleware customer base grew from 30,000 to over 120,000 organizations worldwide.
